Sadly we mourn the passing of Ed TUGGLE.
In December we distribute coats, hats, scarves and mittens to the Davis Prep.School on 7-Mile, Detroit, also supplied new toys and Senior depend Supplies at the Eastern Market Christmas party.
We played Santa Claus at Mitch Albon Christmas party.
Also on another sad occasion Nellie T. Rivard passed away, She was the sister of Our Chapter namesake MICHAEL J. MULHERLIN.

11/09 Missed the ceremony at Brodhead because of attending the Women’s Veteran Resource Center fundraiser, hosted by Gail Perry Mason & Pat Cole.
Attending the Vietnam ceremony dinner that night in Warren. Donated to their cause.
11/10 VETERANS PARADE on Michigan Ave. was a great success. We like to Thank the IBEW 58 for letting us use their hall and parking lots. We are planning already for the next year parade.
11/12 Attended the pining ceremony at U of Mercy.
Hosted the last Taskforce meeting at the Michigan Veterans Foundation.
11/14 Went to Charity Motors and gave a gift.

The chapter will support again the Christmas party with council President Brenda Jones, Friday Dec. 13 at Eastern Market Shed 3 from 5-8 pm.
The chapter will contribute to the coat drive for a Detroit Elementary School, hosted by council member Scott Benson.

4/01 Attended meeting with Detroit Rescue mission (Helping Vets).
4/02 Chapter members got to see the Red Wings game. Everyone seemed to have a great time.
We were on the big screen for Military Appreciation. Will maybe do it next season again.

4/03 MDVC Parade meeting. We have the Ford field for our ceremony this year.

4/08 Had to go to City License office for clearance of parking permit.
4/09 Veterans Task Force meeting . Royal Oak Memorial Park was trying to get funding for their park.
4/16 Teleconference with MDVC Parade. Need to get a larger participation of volunteers and also increase membership.
4/18 Assembled with help of Lynette’s teenagers (our newest AVVA members) and some Chapter 9 members 120 Care packages for VA hospital for Easter. Treated them to pizza for their efforts. Thank you Dave Gurtowski for going shopping for all the supplies!
4/20 A contingent of members: Dave Gurtowski (who gave up his birthday), Phil Harrison, Gary Cote, Lynette Arlene, Paul Palazzolo, Gudrun Hite, and from the Canadian side came Scott & Jennie Davidson from the North Wall Veteran Riders. We made a happy Easter for a lot of patients.
Also News Channel 2 and 7 interviewed us at the hospital and later broadcasted the event on the 6 o’clock News. Gudrun Hite gave a wonderful and emotional interview! Thanks Gudrun!

3/02 Attended the eulogy for Katheryn Sebrowsky. Keep her family in our prayers.
3/06 MDVC-Parade meeting. Going forward with the establishment of all the different aspects of the set-up, route, runners, and possible Fest in an indoor venue.
3/07 MCVV meeting went in great detail about fund raising for the up-coming Fisher House.
3/13 Met with Joshua (Detroit School) to go over scholarship. Also looking for support for Camp Burt Shurly to improve the whole campsite and make it a all year camp for DPS students.
3/16 Attended with chapter members the dinner auction for the Fallen and Wounded soldiers fund at the MGM casino. It was a splendid affair.
3/17 Had the State Council meeting at the chapter, It was very well attended. Also had at the same time the AVVA meeting. The want a delegate from our chapter to go to the National convention. State Council will come back in a future meeting.
3/18 Hosted the Navy League METDET at our chapter. Planning for the Navy Ball in October 11, 2019. Will keep meeting at our facility for their next meeting in May. Also the Sea cadets like to have a social evening. They are looking for sponsors for the 25 men orchestra($1000)
3/18 Had meeting with Kate Melcher (Fisher House MI) about more info on the establishment of Detroit Fisher House. Got the go ahead for fund-raising for the 2nd Fisher House in Michigan. The goal is 7.000.000

Another month gone by and there is only 1 month left before summer recess, so let us make the most of it.
1. Meeting with MDVC (Parade) was a good meeting. The route for November march was finalized. Need to negotiate the final arrangement at Cass Park with the City and Police Department.
The 4.5 Mile race got the Michigan State Fair-Shriners as sponsor for the event.
Also established an agreement with Entercome-CBS radio to promote the Veterans Parade state wide.
2. At the Task Force meeting pushed City council to apply some influence with the Mayor's office for the final approvement of the lot allocations.Also the VA has to due some diligent pressure with the Mayor for the lots. Time is of the essence, because the council goes for summer recess end of June.
The Planning & Development Ept. establish the lots on Palmer & John R to be specific for the FISHER house Detroit. Now it needs the Mayor's approval.
3. The MCVV(Motor City Veterans Village) accepted a check of $ 50.000 from the MI Masonic Charity Foundation for the Fisher House. Your donations will also go for the Detroit Fisher House. Thank you all!!!

The goal of MCVV is: To establish a Nation wide Network of services made available to new released Veterans and their families, helping them with the info for all aspects of their new civilian life.
Will hold a Benefit event for the Fisher house toward the end of this year.
4. Talked about to establish for the High School kids a school of Digital Technology in conjunction with the already established DSDT(Detroit School of Digital Technology)
5. No date has been set for a TIGER game. Need volunteers to make it possible.
6. Also plan the RIVER CRUISE to happen in July 27,2018.
7. Are we going to extend the Parking permit to the end of this year?
